Lou Sauer of Raleigh NC pro biz consulting presents, How not to get ripped off and things to consider when buying or selling a business
ProBiz Counsulting asks,
“Have You Considered Selling Your Business?”
Perhaps not, but you may be interested in a confidential valuation of your business’s worth. And then again, you may not be interested today but may be interested in selling someday, for reasons that are not now apparent.
1). SELLING A BUSINESS: There is no fee to list. ProBiz will work on a “commission/performance” basis. The sales commission is a simple percentage of the selling price. (Contingency Fee). My personal services as a Business Consultant outside of the direct sale of a business are as follows:
2). BUSINESS CONSULTING: Many business owners have need of a consultant for a wide range of questions and problems. I can help with all types of marketing programs and suggestions, bringing new and creative ideas to you. My goal is Profit Improvement. Often, increased sales is one of the best solutions to most problems. This is my area of greatest expertise and I can be engaged on a hourly, daily or weekly rate to help you increase sales and profits.
3) BUSINESS VALUATIONS: As a Business Owner, you will often have need of a realistic, arm’s length, defensible valuation of your business’ true worth in the marketplace. I charge a basic fee and this also includes my services for helping a business “get in shape” prior to making a decision to sell.
4). TURN-AROUND PROGRAMS: Just because a business is not doing well today does not mean it should be sold at a loss or …sold or closed at all! Many times an outside Consultant can see things and effect cost savings, including employee hiring and firing, motivation and training or re-training. Other ideas can be presented and a plan of action begun that will increase sales and profits. Debt load can be restructured, vendors can be approached and other fixed expenses can actually be renegotiated to save a business in trouble. New customers mat be added and new markets opened. A minimum of two weeks must be contracated. Most turn around programs need 4-6 weeks to show significant true long term results, but immediate relief can be demonstarted in the first two weeks.
There are many other services I can provide not specificly listed above, including the role of corporate advisor, board member, and personal coach. If I can be of service to you or someone you know, please contact me as above. Thanks, Pro Biz Consulting, Inc.
